History Tuesday:
Busy as a bee🐝- this describes the bees on our purple oregano yesterday, the hummingbird in our garden and even my two littles in their sensory box this morning. I know it's a phrase I often embody, but ever wonder where it originated?
🐝 Most historians date the phrase back to Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (written 1386-1400)
🐝 The phrase is found in The Squire's Tale
🐝 This isn't the only saying using bees! The little insect is important to English agriculture and therefore pops up often in our language.
